Project List 2005 to present: Freelance Consultant

 

• Evaluator of final proposals to RDI-2 Programme, Cairo, Egypt (Component III). This component was to fund clusters to increase cooperation between academic institutions and business (particularly SMEs)

• Non-conventional hydrocarbons; Various trips to Lithuania and Belarus as part of an expert team analysing the potential for the exploitation of non-conventional hydrocarbon resources in Lithuania and Belarus, in particular shale gas and tight oil/gas deposits. Currently working on the potential for non-conventional hydrocarbon development in three UK offshore license blocks

• Evaluator of proposals to RDI-2 Programme (Component I), Cairo, Egypt. Evaluator of proposals to the second phase of the €11m EU funded Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Programme. This programme is designed to increase Egyptian applied research and cooperation between academic institutions and business (particularly SMEs)

• Team Leader of the Valley Monitoring Group Project, Vilnius, Lithuania. The Group is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Valleys programme which involves an investment of over €600m on research infrastructure and equipment across Lithuania.

• Team Leader of a large consortium delivering the project, “EUROMED Innovation and Technology Programme”. (Medibtika) based in Cairo. This 4 year programme delivered technical assistance and training in the MEDA countries aimed at increasing the level of innovation in SMEs. Press button above for more details.

• author of three reports on IST development in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania as part of the EU funded FISTERA project

• independent evaluator of proposals for the European Commission (DG Enterprise) in the Framework 6 Call “Entrepreneurial innovation:

• City of Knowledge, Panama City, Panama. Provision of technical and marketing assistance to the management of the City of Knowledge in Panama City to help develop the complex as an ICT cluster.
